DALLAS (December 1, 2006)—From 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, December 15, the Half Price Books store located at 5803 East Northwest Highway in Dallas, will sell 50 rare prints of an original painting by artist and former Dallas Cowboy Doomsday Defense member Dave Edwards. Edwards will be on-site to sign memorabilia and meet fans.

The limited edition reproductions feature the legendary Doomsday Defense, which skyrocketed the team into fame and success in the early 1970s. All 50 copies have been individually autographed by Dave Edwards, Bob Lily, George Andrie, Mel Refro, Lee Roy Jordan, Jethro Pugh and Larry Cole. The prints cost $100 each and are available on a first come, first served basis. Each customer is limited to purchasing three prints.

Proceeds from the sale of the Doomsday Defense prints will benefit Literacy Instruction for Texas (LIFT), a 45 year old non-profit agency that offers free literacy and ESL classes to more than 5,000 adults every year.

Radio personality Norm Hitzges from 1310 KTCK (The Ticket) will be broadcasting live from Half Price Books and specifically discussing this special era of Cowboy history.
